How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are procedures to control most of the sounds that come from canine pets.  Dogs in Monterey that bark at the sound of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual.  It is their job to bark when an unknown person comes to your Monterey door but you should train them that an OK command from you means everything is fine and your protector can stop barking.

Another complaint we hear from dog owners is the whining at objects such as a shovel or rakes. These are all things a pet can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Monterey neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable bad dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your pet from inside the house.  It really doesn't take long for them to learn.

Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over 200 times better than your hearing.  He can hear your car coming from over a block away.  He will respond with his voice.  You just need to learn how to teach your pet when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
