How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are procedures to control most of the sounds that come from dogs.  Dogs in Waterford that bark at the sound of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual.  It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Waterford house but you should train them that an "okay" from you means you have the situation under control and your protector can stop making noise.

Another concern we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as a shovel or rakes. These are all things a canine can learn to live with quietly. Running fence lines and barking at your Waterford neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your pet from inside the house.  This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.

Most importantly, you must remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing.  He can hear a squirrel running up a tree.  He will respond with his voice.  You just need to learn how to teach your pet when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
