How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are procedures to control most of the sounds that come from your pet.  Dogs in Lake in the Hills that bark at the sound of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual.  It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Lake in the Hills house but you should train them that an OK command from you means you have the situation under control and your protector can stop growling.

Another complaint we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as a shovel or walkers. These are all items a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Lake in the Hills neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your pet from inside the home.  It really doesn't take long for them to learn.

It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing.  He can hear a squirrel running up a tree.  He will respond with his voice.  You just need to learn how to teach your canine when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
