Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to correct most of the sounds that come from man's best friend. Dogs in Glenwood that bark at the noise of the family's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual. It is their job to bark when an unknown person comes to your Glenwood door but you should teach them that an OK command from you means everything is fine and your protector can stop barking.
Another complaint we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as a shovel or tractors. These are all things a canine can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Glenwood neighbors and their dogs should not be tolerated inappropriate dog behavior either. This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild shock collar so you can correct your dog from inside the home. It really doesn't take long for them to learn.
It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing. He can hear a squirrel running up a tree. He will respond with his voice. You just need to learn how to teach your canine when it's time to be quiet when they hear the correct signal.
