How Can You Stop The Noise?

Heredity gave dogs voices but there are ways to control most of the sounds that come from man's best friend.  Dogs in Wind Lake that bark at the sound of the house's doorbell or a knock on the door need to be taught a greeting ritual.  It is their job to bark when a stranger comes to your Wind Lake door but you should teach them that an "okay" from you means you have the situation under control and your dog guardian can stop growling.

Another concern we hear from pet owners is the barking at objects such as vacuum cleaners or walkers. These are all things a dog can learn to live with quietly. Running the property lines and barking at your Wind Lake neighbors and their dogs is not acceptable inappropriate dog behavior either.  This "distance" barking can be corrected through training sometimes needing a mild zap collar so you can correct your dog from inside the house.  This unacceptable dog behavior can be corrected in a short period of time.

It's important for you to remember that a dog's hearing is over two hundred times better than your hearing.  He can hear a squirrel running up a tree.  He will respond with his voice.  You just need to learn how to teach your dog when it's time to be quiet when they hear the proper command.
